Hundreds of people attended the funeral of Eden Zakaria, who was kidnapped from the Nova party in Re'im and whose body was returned last Tuesday. Eden, a resident of Rishon LeZion, was 28 when she died in Hamas captivity. The funeral takes place on the date Eden was supposed to mark her birthday. "I want to give you a gift and tell you that you are a great hero. Rest in peace."
Orin Zach Gantz, Eden's mother, eulogized her. At first, the mother declared that despite the loss, she would continue to fight for the return of the hostages. "My war is not over. I'll go with the puck and the puck. We'll make a deal and bring back whoever we can. She was identified by fingerprints, I was privileged to bring back a whole child, she was preserved beautiful and pure. I received her dead, that all families would accept their loved one," the mother said.

"My girl, before you were born I was just a 20-year-old girl. A month before I turned 21, I was already your mother," her mother added, eulogizing her, "I learned every good part of me because of you. For 28 years you never stopped teaching me about life. Eden is a child of freedom and space. She cannot be buried in a city cemetery. I chose a place for her by the sea because she loves the sea and the sun."
"Just when I learned to overcome the challenges you went," said Orin Hamm, "you were forced to spend two months in a heartless tunnel. They will never be able to be like you. You came back with lush hair and an angel face just like you walked. I stroked your hand and hair and kissed you one last time. They asked me if it was okay for me to see you thin and cold in bed motionless and I said yes. They said I was brave, they said I was brave. I'm not brave, you're my daughter, no matter what situation or shape."

Eden's funeral takes place on the date she was supposed to mark her birthday. "You have your birthday today. I want to tell the world what the Israel Defense Forces is willing to do for one, how soldiers sacrificed their lives for my beloved daughter," the mother said.
Afterwards, Ilan, Eden's uncle, eulogized. "Beloved Eden is no longer with us. Our children's only sin was that they went to the festival, as young people their age should do," said Ilan, "between despair and full faith that Eden is coming back alive. Your friends have set up a war room to gather any information about you. We watched dozens of horrifying videos to find a small footage of Eden. Your father went on the first day to look for you, despite his life among dozens of terrorists."

"We joined the abductees headquarters and received information that defined you as abducted. "We marched to Jerusalem with pictures in our hands and shouted 'bring back our Eden,' flew in delegations, gave interviews and became an even more extended family, the family of the abductees. We prayed for a Hanukkah miracle, but it didn't happen. Then comes the bitter knowledge of anything we could describe, indigestible, after all, you were supposed to be alive. Soldiers took their lives and brought you back from Gaza. You were armed with a picture with a mischievous smile, laughing eyes and a tattoo of a small heart in the ring. A girl who always advocated peace, live and let live."
